Founded by long-time teachers and led today by experienced educators, Abby Tutors is built on a deep commitment to helping students thrive — both academically and personally.
Abby Tutors was founded in 2008 by long-time educators Marilyn and Ron Peters. As teachers with over 25 years of classroom experience, they saw firsthand how personalized support could change the trajectory of a student’s academic journey. Driven by a deep love of teaching and a desire to help students feel more confident in their abilities, they launched Abby Tutors as a local, in-person tutoring service focused on one-on-one support. Since then, the program has helped hundreds of students in the Fraser Valley grow in both skill and self-belief.
At Abby Tutors, our mission is simple: help students not only improve their grades, but genuinely enjoy learning. We use current BC curriculum materials and match students with tutors who align with their learning needs and goals. We aim to create a calm, motivating environment where they feel supported and challenged.
Today, Abby Tutors is managed by Victoria Ewert, an enthusiastic and experienced educator who shares Marilyn and Ron’s passion for student success. While pursuing the teacher education program at Trinity Western University, Victoria taught language arts, math, science, and social studies in classrooms throughout Abbotsford and Langley. She also taught ESL both internationally in South Korea and at an international school in Toronto. Victoria brings thoughtful communication, a deep understanding of student needs, and a hands-on approach to tutor matching — ensuring every student gets the personalized support they deserve.
Our tutors are more than subject experts — they’re supportive mentors and role models. The tutors at Abby Tutors have been carefully selected through a thorough screening process. They’ve completed the necessary university coursework and bring previous experience in working with students.
